Meet Kim

Meet Kim

Kim Borin – Office Manager

Working in the building industry from a young age, Kim has also completed studies with the Housing Industry Association (HIA). She enjoys being back at work after having her 3 children with husband of 15 years, Jason.

Kim feels as though it’s an exciting time to be working at Jubilee with lots of up-and-coming projects. She enjoys the warmth, positivism and laughter among the team.

“I’m proud of the extra mile we’re willing to go for all of our clients and that only the best quality is deemed acceptable.  We’re all passionate about building and like to keep on the front foot in terms of new and current trends.”

When not busily running around after her kids, dogs, cats, chooks (and husband!), Kim enjoys gardening, reading and entertaining. Then there’s wasting time on Pinterest interior design boards…

Home Plans and Design Trends

Home Plans and Design Trends

You may be aware that Jubilee Home Builders custom build our homes and developments to suit the individual needs of the client. However,  we are currently examining different types of plans that we could use as bases to start from. The categories we are concentrating on are:

  • Plans to suite the first home builder or down-sizer,
  • Plans to suite clients wanting to upgrade into their second or subsequent home; and
  • Plans for those wanting to splurge on their dream home with luxury, luxury, luxury.

As builder-nerds, it’s something we are enjoying!

Some popular 2019 design trends include:

  • Scullery’s to the kitchen:

As well as extra storage and facility space, these additions are excellent for hiding those dirty dishes and kitchen messes when guests pop in.

  • Computer nooks to the kitchen or living area:

Having your computer in easy reach allows easy access to Google whenever you need it (handy for reading online recipes!). This is also useful in keeping an eye on what the kids are doing on the computer.

  • Bi-fold windows/Serveries:

We LOVE this! Enjoy your morning cuppa while your partner cooks up a storm opposite you inside the kitchen. Better yet, enjoy an afternoon wine while cooking and chatting to your guests through the servery.

  • Clean lines and a sense of openness:

Nobody wants to feel cluttered… Hello Marie Kondo! Think high ceilings, open plan living and large windows. Bringing the outside in is where it’s at.

  • Use it all:

While we’re talking about space, in 2019 we don’t want to waste any of it. Gaps, alcoves, roof space – these are no longer annoying eyesores or useless voids, but rather opportunities for valuable storage or funky design features. Reading corner anyone?

  • Matt blacks and Pastels:

When it comes to colour, matt black fixtures are prominent, while calming pastels have made a come-back for walls or decorating.

For advice on helping you achieve the look you desire, all of our clients are provided with a selection meeting with a reputable, fully qualified interior designer. You can read more about the benefits of using an interior designer in our blog post here:
